Smart was developed in 2006, received a small hull re-design in 2007. Smart was the first canoe with "flat" areas on the hull , which reduces the "diving" effect and supporting "gliding" effect.
Introducing of the flat cross section on the hull was one of the best ideas in the last years in boat construction.

Using that boat, Max Opalev won the Olympic Gold at 500 meters in Beijing.
